十八世紀に円熱盛大、十九世紀半ごろ完結している。

江戸時代日本列島は緑に覆われ、機械文明が開かれていない町中は、静寂感が漂い、閑静な佇まいであったと思われる。

豊かな天然自然の変化する神秘な美しさ、移ろう風情に心の機微を表現している。

海外の影響を受けていない日本独自の上方の感性が織り成した音楽である。

“The Elegance of Kamigata Area, Old Osaka & Kyoto", played and sung by Haruko Saito.

This is classic music of Jiuta and Sokyoku. Jiuta is a song played with a sangen, a classic instrument with three strings.  Sokyoku is music played with a koto, a Japanese harp. 

 

It is graceful and lyrical music that originated in Osaka and Kyoto during the middle of the 16th century.                      

 

The classical music of Jiuta and Sokyoku matured and gained the magnificence during the 18th century.

 

But its popularity waned during the middle of the 19 century, as Japan opened its doors to the rest of the world.

 

These centuries, called the Edo period, the Japanese islands were covered by green forests and fields.  It must have been silent and calm before Japan's mechanical civilization began.

 

This music expresses the mysterious beauty of the nature and Japanese people's delicate feelings about changes of seasons.

 

It captures the original sensitivity of old Osaka and Kyoto people, not being influence by foreign countries.
